Structuring organizations is a complex task made even more complex when those organizations span national boundaries. If a company’s organizational structure is appropriate for its strategic plans, the organization will be more effective in working toward its goals. Two central issues in organization structure are vertical and horizontal differentiation.
Using the University online library resources, locate a minimum of four different scholarly sources on structural design for international organizations and:
Identify the major types of organizational structures and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each for international operations.
Determine the role played by a firm’s strategy plays in determining organizational structure.
Explain the meaning of horizontal differentiation, and analyze its possible implications to how managers design their company’s structure.

Assignment 2: LASA—Global Strategy Analysis Final Report
In order to design the strategy to be used for the international/global operations, a company needs to have clear mission and vision, as well as to define its market positioning. Assessment of the external environment allows one to identify strategic thrusts, financial targets, sources of competitive advantage, etc.
An internal environment analysis will identify if necessary resources and capabilities of the company are in alignment with the opportunities and threats identified from the external environment assessment. Together, these analyses will provide a complete picture of what strategies should be considered for a successful operation in the international markets of choice.
For this assignment, you are to create a comprehensive report on your global strategy analysis that you began in the weekly assignment of Module 2 and add in a section that discusses possible strategic alternatives to be implemented for your company’s international operations. Scholarly sources should be consulted and included in the justification of your strategic choices.
Use the reports produced during the course to support your strategy.

Based on all information collected in your global strategy analysis, prepare an executive summary, with a brief although comprehensive overview of your chosen company and the international/global strategy development process, highlighting the main points developed by you along the assignments and LASAs.
For this assignment, make sure you prepare a report that is 12- pages in length and use a minimum of seven different scholarly sources to reinforce your conclusions. Write in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Use the APA format.
Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M7_A2.doc. For example, if your name is John Smith, your document will be named SmithJ_M7_A2.doc.
